Perfect Circuit West Coast Core System

Perfect Circuit's West Coast Core system is a small setup with an enormous range of sounds. Housed in the discreet Erica Synths Pico Case, this system is a compact kit of clever tools for complex tones. Based on a classic toolkit, the West Coast Core is an ideal system for musicians looking to add techniques from the exotic realm of Buchla and Serge to their setups.

This system is comprised of two analog oscillators with dynamic FM, a wavefolder, two lowpass gates, and a flexible modulation section. Two Make Noise STOs form the system's sonic backbone, each capable of extremely deep linear and exponential frequency modulation. Each STO features sine, suboctave, and variable waveshape outputs, making each its own very powerful sound source. The Intellijel uFold II offers deep wavefolding, and the Make Noise LxD provides two flavors of vactrol-based lowpass gate: excellent for creating the rubbery, plucked sounds typical of Buchla systems. And of course, the Erica Synths Pico Ouput offers headphone output and line-level outputs for your recording gear or live PA, making connectivity to the outside world simple.

Of course, the West Coast paradigm is as much about expressive control as it is about interesting sounds: as such, we have included a powerful modulation section as part of this instrument. The ALM Busy Circuits Pip Slope offers a looping AD envelope not unlike one quarter of a Buchla 281. The WMD / SSF ModBox adds a powerful set of modulation options all its own: two independent LFOs, noise source, and sample & hold all in one package permit the creation of ebbing and flowing dynamic streams of control. The Erica Synths Pico Scale allows for processing modulation signals, taming wild chaos into subtle inflections...or, well, letting things go nuts.
