Perfect Circuit's East Coast Intermediate system is a fully-featured modular synth voice geared toward the classic synth tones of Wendy Carlos, Giorgio Moroder, Keith Emerson, and more. Assembled in a Make Noise powered skiff with room to explore and grow, the East Coast Intermediate system is an excellent starting point for an evolving modular rig.

The East Coast Intermediate system is a powerful, fully capable synthesizer that excels at stacked lead sounds, thumpy bass lines, immense drones, and beyond. It contains everything you need for a classic subtractive synth voice and more. Featuring the WMD/SSF Spectrum and Intellijel Dixie II+ oscillators, AJH MiniMod Transistor Ladder Filter, and Intellijel uVCA as the primary audio path, this synth offers stable pitch tracking and a huge variety of options for making immense layered and stacked sonorities. The AJH Transistor Ladder Filter is the classic Minimoog filter, providing this system the gooey warmth and thump of a classic Moog.

This system is more than just a pretty voice: it is a modulation workhorse. Featuring the Make Noise Contour as envelope generator and WMD / SSF ModBox as a dual LFO and sample & hold, there is no shortage of ways to modulate the rest of the synth. Create vibrato, deep FM, or Pulse Width Modulation with the oscillators; zippering sync between the two oscillators; Amplitude Modulation with the uVCA; crazy filter sweeps and wobbles with the MiniMod VCF. And of course, the oscillators themselves both go down into LFO range, inviting endless modulation experimentation. The system also features the Qu-Bit Octone sequencer, allowing intuitive creation of repeating melodic patterns—great for driving Berlin School sequences, repeating arpeggios, and more.

The East Coast Intermediate system is based on the classic East Coast subtractive synth architecture and excels at producing the sounds of prog and fusion monosynths, disco basslines, and heavy drones. However, the remarkable flexibility of each selected module takes this synth beyond its "old school" roots and allows you to take it into uncharted territory.
