Noise Engineering Mimetic Digitalis

The Noise Engineering Mimetic Digitalis is a CV sequencer optimized for use in live settings, allowing for easy variation of patterns via multi-dimensional sequencing and storage of preset patterns. With tons of manual and external control for editing its four channels of CV output, Mimetic Digitalis is deceptively powerful for its size and acts as an ideal controller for patches and modules in need of heavy modulation: pair with such mutable modules as the Basimilus Iteritas Alter and Manis Iteritas for ideal effect.

Capable of storing up to sixteen patterns for four parts, Mimetic Digitalis is also capable of recording and quantizing live CV manipulation (as well as manual step editing!). X and Y dimensions in the sequence grid are independently clockable, allowing for creation of complex patterns using multiple clock sources. Position in the grid is also randomizable for unpredictable, non-recurrent patterns. Tons of other features provide a multiplicity of ways to create complex patterns, from precisely define to completely random.

Mimetic Digitalis Features

  • Multi-track CV sequencer with multidimensional control for maximum ease of variation
  • Tons of hands-on controls for editing, saving, and recalling sequences
  • Undo allows removal of edits to return to "chorus" after introducing manual changes
  • 2D control over current stage: X, Y, and Random advance inputs available
  • Zero button clears all values for an output
  • Shred enables creation of random, rhythmic patterns
  • CV input for step selection
  • Trigger output every time a new step is selected
  • Edit one or several parts at once
  • Eurorack Module
  • Width: 10hp
  • Depth: 0.8"

54HP Episode 5: Wave Machine
On episode 5 of 54HP we put together “The Wave Machine” which is based around the Piston Honda MKIII dual wavetable oscillator. A Noise Engineering clock/divider and sequencer were used to control the Piston Honda. For modulation there is the Quadra which can be used as envelopes or LFOs. There is a Cinnamon state variable filter and dual VCA to control dynamics and harmonics and a delay for effects.
