Mayer's MD900 XVA is an extended virtual analog desktop synthesizer with 4 part multitimbrality, up to 16 polyphonic voices, and a rock solid build quality making this unit feel as good as it sounds. Each part has two free-running, anti-aliasing Oscillators which gives you access to a wavetable oscillator, with customizable wavetables, or an algorithm oscillator which gives you the classic synthesizer waveshapes that can be morphed seamlessly. You also have access to a Noise/Multisample section which lets you load up samples to be played or looped per part. There is also a dedicated Drum section separate from the synth voice architecture which runs on samples and can be triggered externally or internally programmed.

Sound design is a breeze thanks to the two multimode filters that give you all the filter types you could desire and route them wherever you need with the built in Mixer. Freely assign your modulations thanks to the Mod Matrix and take advantage of the onboard LFOs and envelopes. A sound Shaper section lets you introduce more overtones to your sounds and gets added in as an effect. Each part gets their own individual effects section, arpeggiator, and step sequencer. Build entire performances and tracks with just this device thanks to the Clip Launcher, which gives you an Ableton-style grid of programmable clips that can be launched in rows or individually.
