Plexiphon Spatial Texturizer
Make Noise Plexiphon
Create unique colors in stereo space with Plexiphon from Make Noise, a stereo spatial texturizer that seamlessly morphs between reverb and echo, with plenty of characterful and unique effects in between. Another bold collaboration with custom code from Tom Erbe in the Soundhack series, Plexiphon provides a wonderful end-of-chain stereo effect that fits perfectly on full mixes and singular voices alike, bringing characterful time-based sounds to any patch. Designed to provide an incredibly wide range of effects that can be smoothly morphed between, Plexiphon's Plexus control gives you immediate adjustment of how many feedback paths are used in the algorithm, as well as how these feedback paths link together to form more complex relationships in the frequency and time domains. The Size control adjusts the temporal space between feedback paths, operating like a reverb size control at the far left position, all the way into delay or echo spacings at the right.
Sculpt your reverberant or repeating tones with the Diffuse and Color controls, which allow you to filter or boost high and low frequencies over time to create warm and dark repeats, brightly shimmering reverberance, and everything in between. To control the stereo spatialization, Couple and Skew parameters are onboard, giving you control over stereo separation as well as inverse or tandem control of either side's Plexus, Size, and Color parameters for unique stereo effects. While Plexiphon's captivating sound works great as an always-on effect, the integrated Send gate allows you to automate when the input signal is fed into the effect via CV, perfect for performance-oriented momentary bursts of delays, gated reverb, and more. Also onboard is an envelope follower CV source, perfect for sidechaining any parameter in Plexiphon to its own amplitude dynamics or sending this CV out to other modules.
With code designed from the ground up by Tom Erbe, Plexiphon rekindles the bright spark of characterful time-based effects in the Soundhack line-up, now in a modern stereo device with vast versatility in sound design options. Using Make Noise's new platform of digital hardware, it also offers a high-quality experience that will set pretty next to any studio processor in your arsenal. If you're looking for deep delay line flexibility and sound design options dripping with character, Make Noise's Plexiphon is sure to make you smile in any signal chain.
