Make Noise Jumbler

In a modular synthesizer ecosystem obsessed with control, precision, and the delicate ballet of voltage, the Make Noise Jumbler offers something stranger and more poetic: uncertainty with intent. A six-by-six analog signal combiner and distributor, the Jumbler is a sculptural take on routing, using a pair of voltage-controlled parameters—Rotate and Radiate—to rearrange connections not with the cold finality of a switch, but with the fluid nuance of a VCA-driven mix. It doesn't so much route signals as remix them, in real time, while you watch your patch subtly evolve into something new.

Where traditional matrix mixers assign strict inputs to outputs, the Jumbler invites a looser, more improvisational approach. Rotate cycles the positions of inputs through the outputs, like a lazy Susan for voltage, while Radiate controls how much of each signal gets sent—blending, bleeding, or even fully eclipsing other sources. What results is not just a reconfiguration of patch architecture, but the possibility of entirely new behaviors: composite rhythms made from gate pulses, drones that swirl between oscillator voices, even the elegant misbehavior of feedback loops spiraling in and out of control.

This is not a module for those seeking simple utility. The Jumbler belongs to the Make Noise tradition of philosophical devices, asking questions as often as they answer them. Whether it's being used to gently remix modulation signals across a performance or to aggressively mutate the core architecture of a generative system, the Jumbler brings with it a sense of play, instability, and transformation. You've patched a system. Now try jumbling it.

Make Noise Jumbler
Jumbler is a six by six channel analog signal combiner and distributor for the New Universal Synthesizer System or any Eurorack modular synthesizer. Jumble is one of the N.U.S.S. concepts where the routings of a patch could be re-configured, or jumbled, instantly via voltage control to produce variations on a theme.

Jumbler gives you powerful two-parameter access to the rearrangement of both origins and destinations for up to six modular signals. One to six inputs are routed to one to six outputs, in an order determined by the Rotate control, and combination determined by the Radiate control. Unlike a simple switch module, Jumbler’s analog VCA-based design is specially geared for smooth transitions and hybrid signals.

Jumbler is a great module for hybrid control voltage mashing, complex waveform mixing, on-the-fly effects re-routing, gate and clock re-combinations and more. Some folks have said it is like patching a stack of 6 RxMx circuits.

Mix and Match up to six signals for up to six destinations
