The 1604VLZ4 from Mackie is a sturdy, high-quality 16-channel mixer with a ton of inputs, outputs and auxiliary sends for a wide range of routing potential in a compact size. It's built with Mackie's high-headroom, low-noise design, and each channel comes equipped with their Onyx preamps, which offer an ultra-wide 60 dB gain range. Along with its sixteen channel inputs, the 1604VLZ4 provides sixteen balanced inserts for easily integrating outboard gear, as well as four auxiliary sends and stereo returns which can be routed from any channel. Additionally, the whole unit is designed to be rack mountable, along with the mix matrix on the back, which can be moved into several configurations for easy-of-access.

Each channel offers a 3-band EQ, with a high boost at 12k, a low boost at 80hz (adjustable to a 75hz low cut) and a sweepable mid frequency band, with each band capable of a +15 db / -15 db boost or cut. Each channel can be one of the four Aux sends, with an additional 5/6 Shift button, which sends the signal to a separate 5/6 auxiliary output. Each Aux send provides a dedicated volume knob, which can provide an additional 15 db or cut any amount under unity, along with a PRE button to bypass the EQ before hitting the aux channel.
