Keeley Tube Drive

Tube Drive from Keeley is a characterful and versatile drive pedal that covers two distinct overdrive circuits under a single panel. One side is a genuinely tube-based design running at 168V. At its core sits a Keeley-branded 12AX7-style twin triode, burned in and rigorously tested before fitting, capable of anything from mild saturation to a heavy punch at extreme settings. The second half carries Robert Keeley's iconic mod of the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver—the Phat Mod—long loved for adding weight to treble-heavy single-coils without giving up clarity.

Each channel gets its own trio of controls: Level, Gain, Tone for tube, and Level, Drive, Tone for Phat Mod. Tone is a low-pass filter sitting at the end of each drive stage. The order of the two circuits isn't fixed and can be swapped on the fly by foot. Bypass mode is switchable between true and buffered, which makes the Tube Drive unusually flexible about where it sits on a pedalboard.
