Lend your Eurorack system an ear with the MEMS Mic 3U from Intellijel, a compact 2hp module with onboard MEMS omni microphone, inviting the sounds of your environment into your synth. MEMS Mics, or Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System Microphones, offer incredibly small microphone elements which can be directly mounted to a circuit board, and are found on a wide range of consumer electronics like phones, tablets, and cameras. In their ultra-small form factor, they are capable of surprisingly detailed audio signal transmission, providing a flat frequency response over a range of about 6Hz to 20kHz. This allows the MEMS Mic 3U to take up a very small amount of hp real-estate while still offering high performance audio for sampling, granular manipulation, effects processing, and more.

Controls for the MEMS Mic 3U are simple and intuitive, ensuring you can get sound into your system without fuss. A fader control adjusts input level, with a CV input to automate input level using a signal from your system. When using CV control, the fader becomes an attenuator for the control signal, allowing you to dial in modulation depth with precision. A low cut switch offers a handy tool for rejecting wind and other rumbling low frequencies in your environment. Beyond these simple controls and functions, MEMS Mic 3U leaves it up to you to creatively employ the sound of your environment in whatever way you see fit.
