Based on the classic Maestro Echoplex, the Echosex 3 from Gurus Amps is the third revision in their stunning and storied Echosex line. The Echosex is a favorite amongst countless guitarists including PJ Harvey and Adrian Belew.

In the new Echosex 3, special attention was paid to creating a higher tube voltage. This allows for cleaner signaling and leveling so you can emulate the sonic inconsistencies of tape without immediately diving into saturation. The filtering section of the effect has been redesigned as well, lowering the noise level present in the echo. This gives you a cleaner, gentler signal that has the potential to be scaled up rather than having to fight higher-frequencies that normally build up in this style of echo effect. The last major addition to this third revision is a tap-tempo that perfectly fits your echo into the assigned BPM.

The pedal's controls are relatively straight forward—they include knobs for Volume Echo that controls your effect level. The Echo knob controls the delay-time of your pedal, while Length of Swell dictates the feedback level of your delay. Bass/Treble determine whether the echo emphasizes higher, or lower frequencies, and the Age of Damage control is meant to emulate the idiosyncracies and sonic characteristics of tape. This is extremely useful to any musician who's looking for a vintage sound, but with the conveniences of a modern pedal!
