The Gieskes's Analog HD2 is a physical hard drive CV controller and acoustic instrument that repurposes a physical hard drive to create a truly stunning centerpiece for an experimental sonic exploration. There are two main ways to use this device: the first is as an acoustic instrument where each of the three knobs affects the speed of the hard drive's motor. As you manually spin the hard drive platter, the three different knobs will illuminate in various combinations changing the motor speed. This motor sequence can be switched on and off; the motor also features a CV input that directly affects the motor.

The second way to use the Analog HD2 is as a dynamic CV controller. Each of the three knobs have a corresponding CV trigger output that sends out triggers when moving the platter—perfect for creating interactive modular patches. Combining both methods is truly a recipe for strange sounds: attach a contact mic or electromagnetic pickup and feed it through your modular case, external effects, or both for other-worldly sounds.
