In contrast to most fuzz pedals, Inversions uses CMOS inverters for its gain stages, the same chip found in the Sunn Beta Lead. This gives the pedal a sound akin to a traditional muff, but fuller and with a more aggressive edge to it. The controls include everything needed for huge fuzzy tones: Volume, Tone and Gain parameters—with a wide variety of tones available from just the Gain knob alone. The Mode switch allows you to get two entirely different characters from the Tone control, with the first mode providing a more traditional muff tone stack sound with that satisfying mid-scoop, while the second mode has a more mid-forward response, inspired by the sound of the Rat. The pedal supports both true bypass and buffered bypass functionality, with a dedicated switch on its under side for choosing between each mode of operation.
