Fredenstein V.A.S. Comp

The Fredenstein V.A.S. Comp is a single-channel FET compressor designed to tuck into your studio desk that can be easily linked for stereo use. Centered around Fredenstein's proprietary Reverse-Mancini architecture and the high-performance OPA2 discrete op-amp, it delivers transparent gain control or aggressive limiting depending on how it's dialed in. A steel-core American transformer on the output adds just the right touch of harmonic character, while a suite of rotary controls gives detailed access to every compression parameter.

The V.A.S. Comp includes features usually reserved for top-shelf studio gear: separate LED meters for gain reduction and output level, a tunable side-chain filter, stereo-linking with remote bypass, and hard bypass with power-off protection. Wet/Dry mix supports parallel compression, and a universal power supply makes it ready for use anywhere in the world. Designed for tracking, mixing, or mastering, the V.A.S. Comp is a flexible and powerful compressor equally at home taming vocals or smashing drums.
