Eventide EuroDDL Delay
The Eventide Euro DDL module is a straightforward delay module with tactile front panel controls and loads of features. Specifically designed with performance in mind, Eventide have spared no expense in transposing one of their most renowned devices into the realm of Eurorack modular synthesis. It features a nearly-entirely analog design with the smallest digital imprint, all of which contribute to its versatility and inherent musicality. Under the hood, the module sports a 24-bit delay converter, a versatile DDL that can be warped in all manner of ways, and an ergonomic control layout that affords immediate access to all crucial parameters.
EuroDDL Features
- A Eurorack delay with minimal digital circuitry. It's constrained to do nothing more than simple, yet flexible, delay.
- The DDL is pristine. It’s long. It’s short (0.11msec resolution). It’s smooth, it loops and it goes backwards.
- The delay converter is 24 bits with max delay up to 10 seconds at 192 kHz sample rate and 160 seconds at 16 kHz rate.
- Delay time can be varied smoothly and over a wide range; either manually, via tap tempo or by remote control voltage.
- Short delays can be used for comb filter and flanging effects. Longer delays for echo effects.
- Infinite delays for looping. Backwards delays for reverse effects.

Karplus Strong Synthesis On Eurorack Modular
This is the first part of our series on physical modeling synthesis on a eurorack modular. Karplus-Strong and wave guide synthesis use short delay lines with feedback to create sounds from simple plucked string modeling to two and three dimensional models of drum heads and resonating and reverberating spaces.
