Euterpe Synthesizers Itinera

Itinera, from the laboratories at Euterpe Synthesizers, is a premium filter with a taste for the profane, offering multimode filtering with unique resonance modes and a heaping helping of distortion. Inheriting much of its functionality from the first stage of Euterpe's formidable Vertice filter bank, Itinera iterates and expands on those concepts to achieve a vast range of signal sculpting and tone generating tasks, from musical, resonant sweeps to chaotic transistor brutality.

At its core, Itinera is a highly musical Sallen-key filter with low pass, band pass, high pass, and notch modes. Where Itinera diverges from this time-tested design, unique tones await. Controls for filter cutoff and emphasis, or resonance, as well as an independent input level control, provides the typical array of signal sculpting parameters. The formant control deforms the filter shape, creating vocal sounds from rich waves and reinjecting the input signal at high settings. Vindicta introduces further filter mangling, causing the circuit to scream and protest with intermittent drop outs that create sputtering rhythms.

To the right of the mode switch, three premium throw switches let you drive the circuit further. The overload switch adds +40dB of gain from a silicon transistor distortion stage, offering a wide range of tones from fuzzy to face ripping in concert with the input gain control. The attitude switch lets you change the traditional diode resonance circuit to a transistor based one, adding further aggression to the sound and dramatically changing emphasis response. Finally, the Innesco switch, only available in the transistor resonance mode, drives the resonance into full psychosis, creating what the designer refers to as a "filtering oscillator", sure to satisfy aggressive leads, treacherous kicks, and then some. Across all its tweak-worthy physical controls and CV inputs, Itinera from Euterpe Synthesizers promises dynamic sound shaping and creative patch potential to bring fresh and fiery tones from any Eurorack system.
