Erica Synths Fusion VCF V3
The Erica Synths Fusion VCF V3 is a 24dB/oct lowpass filter that combines vacuum tubes with vactrols for a unique soft filtering, perfect for taming wild waveforms. The filtering is a lovely rich sound that captures the warmth of vacuum tubes with the softness of vactrols.
Input signals can be patched into the three-input mixer. It features a gain of two, allowing you to overdrive input signals for extra bite. The mixer has a dedicated output that is normalled into the VCF input, but it can also be used as a standalone mixer. Additionally, a built-in utility multiple with three outputs allows for splitting an audio or CV signals to multiple destinations, or for use creating feedback loops.
There are two external CV inputs that control the cutoff frequency of the filter, adding to the cutoff knob position. The cutoff CV can also be controlled using the record CV knob and record button. Hold down the record button and twist the record CV knob to add automated filter modulation. By default, the recorded CV is routed to the CV 1 input. During playback, the playback speed can be divided or multiplied using the record knob. The recorded CV is also available as an output for use with other modules within your system. In addition to the CV output, there is a gate output that will go high whenever the record CV knob is turned past 12 o'clock.
The filter uses vactrols which have a natural slew so it will only accept CV signals up to ~10Hz. The Fusion VCF 3 is a unique filter with a gentle filter slope, mixer that can overdrive, and automated internal modulation all combining for a killer module.
