PUMP 500 Series VCA Compressor
Empirical Labs PUMP
The PUMP 500 Series Classic Knee Compressor from Empirical Labs brings comprehensive dynamics control to 500 Series systems at an affordable price. Sharing in the lineage of beloved ELI processors like the Distressor, the PUMP packs a huge range of precision controls into a compact one-slot module, giving you exacting control to shape signals with ease. Input and output gain controls allow you to dial in gain staging across the processor, with onboard clip indicator and gain reduction meter providing visual cues to streamline your workflow.
Digitally stepped controls for Attack and Release time, including a soft Opto-style release mode, make it easy to recall settings session to session. Compress or limit across a wide range of ratio options from 2:1 to 20:1, and target compression towards important frequencies with the switchable 110Hz high pass filter. The unique Attack Modification setting allows you slow the initial attack onset to preserve the snap and thump of transients, giving you impressive control over drums and other important transient elements in a mix. With comprehensive control over classic compression parameters and unique features unseen in typical hardware devices, PUMP from Empirical Labs is a fantastic dynamics processor for any 500 Series system.
