Electro-Harmonix POG3

Electro-Harmonix brings their latest polyphonic pitch-shifting prowess to the POG3, a powerful new flagship in their revered line of pitch effects pedals. Front and center, a number of sliders allow you to dial in your ideal mix of pitch-shifted signals: +/- 2 octaves, +/- 1 octave, a perfect 5th above, and the dry signal. Optionally, a Focus button allows you to switch between EHX's POG and Pitch Fork algorithms for the +1 and +2 octave signals. Each voice also features a stereo panning control, allowing you to create wide, shimmering sounds. There's also input gain and master volume controls, for broader control of levels coming in and out of the POG3.

Beyond the stellar pitch-tracking, POG3 gives you more options than ever to transform and disguise your instrument. Use the Attack slider to roll off the transients of your input signal—even going so far as to create swelling pads on a per-note basis. An expanded multimode Filter lets you sculpt sounds with resonance and an internal envelope, stretching well-beyond simple autowah-type effects. There's also Detune and Spread controls, which impart different flavors of chorusing and stereo detuning to the upper shifted signals. Best of all, any of these extended effects may be optionally applied to the dry signal by simply tapping the corresponding button below each slider.

Given its capabilities, POG3 provides you with 100 preset slots to save all of your favorite sounds—and then some! Preset names and deeper settings, such as expression and MIDI assignments, are accessible via the OLED display. And if you prefer working from your computer, the USB-C port allows you to connect the POG3 to the EHXport app for editing and managing presets.
