The Echo Fix EF-X3 Rackmount Vintage Voice maintains all the same gorgeous sonic imperfections of the original Vintage Voice and compacts that into a 19" rackmount unit for your studio. With a 100% analog signal path, BBD Chorus, and analog spring reverb, your signal remains unadulterated by any digital whisper, until it reaches your audio interface. Create deep lo-fi textures with the extended motor speed range that allows slower times that are reminiscent of an aging tape. As with the other interactions of the EF-X3, you get individual tape head outputs for all four of the tape heads, available on the rear of the unit, ready for you to mix to your personal preference.

Bring controlled chaos to your signals with the new modulation controls that add a delightful sense of instability and movement onto your signal. Underneath the hood there are a set of deeper controls for Mod Rate, Mod Depth, and Shape, the latter gently morphing from a smooth sine wave to a sample-and-hold waveshape—all of which can be bypassed as you see fit. Additionally, under the lid are Record/Erase Off controls that unlock the possibility of live tape looping mode. Simply disengage the Erase head and record, then disengage the Record head to keep the loop locked in place. When you want to overdub, engage the Record head once more and layer your sound until you're satisfied.

Create lighter or darker repeats with the EQ controls, which directly affect the echo path. Take advantage of the discrete outputs for Chorus and Reverb, as well as a variety of CV controls for various aspects of the unit.
