EarthQuaker Devices Zoar
Zoar, from EarthQuaker Devices, is a discrete transistor-based distortion pedal that's highly sculptable to your musical needs, specializing in light to medium overdrives and full-on saturation. If you've been around the block a few times with other drive pedals, most of Zoar's controls should be familiar to you. However, what might not be immediately clear is the interactivity between all of its controls. Key to Zoar's sound is the Weight control, which determines how much of your instrument's low-end frequency content is fed into the pedal. From there, Zoar's Gain and 3-band EQ controls allow you to sculpt anything from jangly clean-ish tones to hard-hitting distortion on the verge of fuzz. You can even run the pedal on power supplies up to 18V for higher headroom and impact.
