Imagine if the EarthQuaker Devices Palisades was condensed into a more compact enclosure while maintaining its renowned functionality, then question why that’s even being imagined when the answer lies in the Dunes. 

Dunes is a take on the vintage 808 overdrive. It features three selectable voices: Mosfet, Silicon, and None. The latter moves from a transparent boost into pure opamp distortion combined with a volume boost—or, what is essentially Setting 1 on the Palisades. Conversely, Palisades’s 3 and 5 settings are available via Mosfet and Silicon modes, respectively.
