EarthQuaker Devices Disaster Transport Sr
With their Disaster Transport Sr, EarthQuaker Devices has ingeniously updated their Ghost Disaster pedal, released in limited amounts way back in 2010. Whereas the Ghost Disaster was a combination of their Ghost Echo and Disaster Transport Jr, the Disaster Transport Sr was specifically designed to achieve a lo-fi type echo effect.Â
Despite its seemingly complex front control panel, the pedal is remarkably easy to operate. The top row of controls affect Delay A, while the bottom corresponds to Delay B. The former is a 600ms delay with modulation and the latter is a 300ms delay with reverb. Each can be used independently, in parallel, in series, or in series/parallel. Additionally, Delay A can be bled into Delay B via expression controls, which also govern Delay A’s repeat amount.Â
Not content to serve exclusively under the shackles of tradition, the Disaster Transport Sr can be used to create a variety of esoteric effects, making it ideal for sound design applications.
