The Dwarfcraft HAX2 is a welcome revision to their mind-bending ring modulator designing, bringing a host of new features that take it even deeper into the realm of tastefully chaotic sound design. The built-in carrier oscillator now features both sine and square waveforms for the addition of even more grating, clangorous sounds, while an internal envelope follower allows for control of the carrier frequency—enabling laser sounds, dynamic tremolo, and more. A built-in lowpass/bandpass filter mode with switchable preset resonance also enables use as an envelope filter. HAX2 contains a world of pseudo-synth tones both via filtering and extreme modulation, permitting everything from subtle swells to raunchy, grinding textures.
