The VT-5 from DW Fearn is a vacuum tube EQ that will completely change how you use and view the role of EQ in your studio. By leveraging the inherently musical quality of vacuum tubes, the VT-5 can sweeten and smooth or it can be pushed for a more aggressive sound. No matter how you choose to implement it, the end result is going to be a gorgeous sound with no harsh artifacts.

Using a passive LC circuitry with, of course, class-A triode vacuum tube stages at both the input and output, the VT-5 takes its circuit design from the VT series of microphone preamps. This makes the audio quality unrivaled, allowing for the EQ to function in a more musically pleasing way. The input is line-level, custom transformer balanced and the active vacuum tube input section features adjustable gain to accommodate input signals as low as -10 dBm. Perfect for mixing, tracking or mastering, all controls are stepped allowing for uniformity between units and repeatable results.

The controls give you independent Low Cut and Low Boost with different frequencies, minimizing overlap. Low Cut can reduce a selected frequency by -18dB and Low Boost will bump the frequency by +16. Mid Cut gives you selectable midrange frequencies and allows you to dip -16dB of said frequency. High Boost and High cut are similar to the Low section, but feature an HF Q. High Boost goes up to +14dB and High Cut goes down to -14dB. Easily one of the most used pieces in any studio, the EQ can define your sound and with the VT-5 from DW Fearn that definition will leave an impression.
