Dnipro Modular Dot

The Dnipro Modular Dot is a three-channel trigger sequencer, perfect for creating rhythmic patterns for percussion modules or envelopes. Each track has a dedicated button, CV input, and trigger output. The clock and reset inputs are global and affect all tracks.

Dot features both XOX-style and Euclidean sequencing modes. With Euclidean sequencing you can set the number of steps, the number of active notes, and the offset. The Euclidean patterns are generated by placing the active notes within the step length which are spread apart as evenly as possible. These steps can then be offset to land on different beats. For example, the first active note could land on the third step of a measure instead of the first step. In XOX mode, on the other hand, individual steps can be turned on or off determined by the user. In step record mode, patterns can be entered by tapping the channel button.

Euclidean patterns are indicated by green LEDs, while XOX notes are indicated by red LEDs. Euclidean patterns can be turned into XOX patterns for further editing using the optional menu. Steps can have ratchets or beat repeats added to them. Each track has a dedicated bipolar CV input that can be routed to fill, step length, and offset, allowing for complex trigger patterns to be created and mangled on the fly. In META mode, CV input one can be used to select what pattern is active, while CV two and three will control the ratchet function. Swing can be added globally to add a groove to your sequences.

The Dot is a powerful tool for polyrhythmic and polymetric patterns. It's easy to program and helps generate complex sequences using a few simple parameters.
