Dazatronyx Big Fuzz Console
If there ever were a contest for the deepest Big Muff pedal ever built, the Big Fuzz Console from Dazatronyx would win it walking away. The idea is disarmingly simple, yet seriously mad: unroll the classic four-stage Muff circuit, bringing nearly every component value that defines its character out to the front panel. The result is a dense but logically ordered map of knobs and switches that lets you dial in precisely the fuzz you're after. Signal flows right to left across the panel, grouped into five sections that follow the circuit itself: stage 1 (gain boost), stage 2 (gain boost with diode clipping), stage 3 (gain boost with diode clipping), passive tone control stage, stage 4 (final gain boost before the volume control).
Every stage gets its own rotary transistor selector, switching between five pre-installed transistors—BC337-25, BC547B, BC547C, 2N5088 and 2N5089—with a further Socket position that hands the stage over to a transistor of your own choosing, secured into that stage's 3-pin screw terminal under the hood The pedal makes it possible to land in the sonic territory staked out by classic Muff designs like the Triangle, Ram's Head and Russian, or push straight past it into custom fuzz profiles. Don't expect an all-Muffs clone machine, though. Between component variance and part tolerance, no two vintage units ever matched each other in the first place; the Big Fuzz Console was never built to reproduce them exactly, but to open up a playground where you can get adventurous with Muff-style sounds.
Truly experimental and open-ended, the Big Fuzz Console is any fuzz-head's dream, and a genuine development tool for anyone who has ever wanted to know why their favourite Muff sounds the way it does.
Big Fuzz Console Features
