Unlike the other Tocantes, Zenert uses a noise generator powered by a zener diode (hence the name), but touch zones will route noise through various filters and shapers. These are tuned in a manner similar to the other Tocante instruments, relying on the scale of common capacitor values to determine their note "value" rather than conforming to a standard Western tuning system. Of course, Tocante Zenert remains as portable as the others, containing an internal battery recharged by sunlight, but you can always use an external power source if needed.
