Ciat-Lonbarde Tocante Bass Bistab

Ciat-Lonbarde's Tocante Bass Bistab isn't your typical synthesizer, but a solar-powered touch instrument for generating low-pitched drones and tones. With its note choices determined by resistor values inside the circuit, Tocantes generate a variety of musical intervals outside of 12-tone equal temperament. The entire Tocante line of Redd and Green synths produces major, minor, and neutral intervals, ensuring that a duo, trio, or ensemble can cover plenty of musical colors.

The Tocante touch surface isn't just ornately designed, but it describes the timbre of the instrument! Bistabs feature square touch plates, and as such produce pulse waves. The Bass model in particular extends below the audible range, allowing for rhythmic clicks and undulations to blend in with sustained tones. Touching other parts of its surface introduces PWM-like modulations and other sources of interference for more timbral variety.
