Chandler Limited's Germanium Compressor might be one of the most flexible yet characterful dynamic shaping tools you can add to your studio. The choice of germanium elements in key parts of the circuit imparts a vintage characteristic, but in the context of an otherwise modern, class A circuit with transformer balanced I/O, this is an incredibly adept piece of studio gear.

Like any good compression tool, you'll find the Germanium Compressor adorned with essential parameter controls: Input gain, compression Ratio, Attack, Release, and dry/wet Mix. However, Chandler didn't stop there in providing you with shaping options. The Comp Curve control swaps diodes in the circuit for different knee shapes, and the Sidechain control imparts highpass filtering up to 300Hz to ease the compression impact of low-end elements. And of course, Germanium Drive and Feedback knobs give you direct control over the vintage vibe of the components inside.

The Germanium Compressor supports the ability to link units together for stereo or even 5.1 surround operation. Link will cascade settings from variable controls onto the next, while switches and stepped controls are easily adjusted on each unit as needed.
