Chandler Limited's Germ 500 MkII is a microphone preamp and direct input for 500 Series, offering the succulent flavor of their Germanium devices in a compact and colorful package. And we mean colorful both visually and sonically—those bold yellow knobs are the key to Germ 500's magic, controlling the Gain and Feedback within the circuit to dial in the sonic character as you like. Though the Gain control reads as going up to 11 (as it should—it's one louder than 10), the module offers up to +65dB of gain in discrete steps, which should cover any sonic base you need it to. Of course, essential options like Phase inversion, +48V phantom power, Pad switch, and a switchable DI 1/4" input give you the flexibility to use this module with any sound source in your studio.
