Patches 1-6 are direct recreations of a few unique sounds from the Microverb, with increasing size and reverb decay at higher patch numbers. In patch 7, you get the classic gated reverb mode from the Microverb, while patch 8 provides the reverse reverb patch, a unique algorithm that uses mathematical operations to reduce the reverb state's reflective properties, creating characterful rushes of reverberant tones.

In addition to the patch selection switch and a bypass footswitch, controls on the CB Paint are simple and intuitive. Tone adjusts a 2-pole low pass filter to soften high end peaks, becoming darker as the knob is turned down. The Onset knob controls pre-delay, which is the amount of time it takes the reverb to kick in after playing up to a maximum of 200ms. In gate mode, the Onset control adjusts the gate time, while in reverse mode, it controls the degree of smearing in the reversed reverb sound. Finally, the Mix control balances the blend of dry and wet signals for the perfect amount of space.
