Orbits from Bleak District Electric is a granular synth pedal that turns any audio you give it into a luscious pad of ambient bliss or woozy swarm of gentle mallow. At this point we've gotten many iterations of the granular synth, effect, and pedal, but Orbits takes this idea and refines it, turning it into a playground for the sonically adventurous. You have the normal controls you'd find on any granular effect: Size, Speed, and Regen. These work in congress to design the exact type of grain field you wish to harvest.

Finetune your sound and granular interactions with an Octave switch that engages random pitch shifting an octave up, up and down, or without shifts at all. Likewise, onboard is a Reverse switch that reverses some, all, or none of the grains. Of course, a hallmark of granular synthesis is the ability to scrub through a frozen audio buffer, and with the centrally located Scrub control, you have all the control you could possibly need. Mix the affected and dry signal with the dedicated Mix control, or use the Kill Dry switch to mute the dry signal entirely. An expression pedal input allows you to adjust the pedal's internal clock for expressive pitch shifting controls.
