BASTL Instruments Déjà Vu

Déjà Vu from BASTL Instruments brings a ton of fader-controlled functionality to your system in a small 4hp footprint, giving you two channels of flexible voltage processing for a myriad of applications. Attenuate, boost, crossfade, and mix signals with two nearly identical channels of control, with simple daisy chaining capability to expand your set-up if desired. While relatively simple in its functionality, Déjà Vu's deep flexibility for both audio and CV signals enables a vast range of useful applications in your patching practice.

On each of channels A and B, you get both a Fader input and an Add input, allowing you to patch in up to two signals per channel and process them in different ways. When the Fader input is unused, the fader control instead adjusts a direct voltage source, giving you additional control over the signal at the Add input, or simply providing a fader control for other parameters in your patch. Fader modes include crossfading between the Fader and Add inputs, as well as attenuation or attenuversion control of the Fader input, which is then added to the signal at the Add input. The Fader gain switch can be set to boost signals up to 10x, enabling use as a line level to Eurorack level converter, or even as a distortion effect with bias control for audio signals.

The outputs for both channels feature LED indicators to keep a close eye on the polarity and level of each channel output. If the A output is left unpatched, it is mixed into the channel B output, allowing for up to four channels of mixing. Additional configuration options on the back of the module allow for using jumpers to disable this normalled connection between outputs, as well as set the 10x gain mode to a tamer 5x boost. Likewise, on the back you'll find connections for chaining in and out of the module, allowing you to connect additional Déjà Vu units to derive more complex processing and mixing capabilities. No matter what system you have, BASTL's Déjà Vu offers a crucial source of voltage manipulation that will bring the best out of your other modules, all with finger-friendly fader control.
