Austrian Audio's OD505 Active Dynamic Microphone gives you the advantages of a dynamic design with the tonal qualities of a condenser. Featuring state-of-the-art, dual capsule design, the OD505 uses an active 48V phantom powered front capsule for consistent, almost-condenser sensitivity coupled with a passive lower capsule that is polarity-rotated to sense and eliminate unwanted noise. Together with a second order high-pass filter, this dual capsule design makes the OD505 practically immune to handling noises, bumps and stage knocks.

Gently floating above the body of the mic, the capsule uses proprietary Open Acoustics Technology to reduce the contact points which eliminates unwanted reflections caused by the housing resulting in a natural, resonance-free sound without any coloring.

With a tight, supercardioid pattern, the OD505 is a boss at filtering out ambient noise, too. Not just for a loud stage, but a small session with multiple instruments in a single room, as well as broadcasters, can benefit from the increased vocal and speech fidelity. Another proprietary development, the 3D Noise Diffuser, has been designed specifically for the OD505 to effectively reduce the impact of plosives.
