The Pip Filter from ALM Busy Circuits is a compact, dual pole 12dB/Oct lowpass filter with a ton of CV-controllable parameters and expressive potential. It includes just about every feature you'd want in a filter, squeezed down into a compact 4HP housing. The Frequency control is equipped with two independent CV inputs for controlling the filter's cutoff, one providing you with a direct CV input, while the other is outfitted with a built-in attenuverter. These controls can be affected simultaneously, giving you access to a world of expressive possibilities. The Resonance control can easily add a more organic presence to your sound, reaching self-oscillation territory at higher levels. The Trig input lets you "ping" the filter, allowing you to take full advantage of the Pip Filter as a percussive voice. The onboard VCA input allows you to control the amplitude of the filtered signal, with the VCA being always open until a signal is recognized at the input. This, in combination with the two Frequency control CV inputs allow you to sculpt complex, multi-layered, and evolving sounds. The Pip Filter from ALM Busy Circuits is an absurdly useful 4HP module, and a worthy addition to ALM's Pip series of modules.
