ALM Busy Circuits MCO MKII

ALM Busy Circuits revolutionizes their compact digital oscillator with the MCO MkII, a multimode digital voice module bringing you sounds of the 90s and 00s in only 6HP. MCO MkII includes both the original MCOs digiwave wavetable voice, alongside six other new engines and returning ALM favorites. Thanks to a streamlined and intuitive user interface, MCO MkII makes it easy to create captivating digital synth sounds which you can save as a user preset, letting you quickly summon up your favorite tones from this feature-rich superoscillator.

Included in MCO MkII's varied synth engines are a wavetable voice based on the original MCO, an flexible additive synth, multimode engine inspired by the Roland JP series, virtual analog, a vocoder and spectral resynthesis engine, bass synth, and the return of ALM's beloved SID GUTs C64 synth voice. Each of these modes lets you define a wide range of parameters, including routing options for three onboard LFOs, envelope settings, defining 4-voice chords, and for assigning MCO mkII's three CV inputs, external signal input for FM and sync, and trigger input. A veritable deluge of digital synthesis sounds in a size fit for even the smallest of systems, MCO MkII is a powerhouse voice in any rack, readily morphing into any role you require.

Like many of ALM's other modules, you can expand MCO MkII with the AXON-1 or AXON-2 expanders for additional control over its many parameters. Likewise, firmware updates and user wavetables are a breeze to upload thanks to a USB-C port on the back of the module, ensuring you're prepared for any power-up ALM provides. Whether you are putting together a small system and need flexibility within HP constraints, or stacking together multiple into a multi-faceted polyphonic monster case, ALM's MCO MkII is a vastly capable voice sure to shine in any system.

Introducing MCO (mkII)
The MCO (mk II) is a highly versatile digital VCO and voice module inspired by 90s/00s digital synths shrunk into just 6HP. Here we take a look at its features using the DigiWave wavetable oscillator voice. The MCO is in stock and available now from all ALM stockists worldwide!

The MCO offers a broad collection of unique, high-quality synth voices, each with extensive, customizable parameters. These parameters can be directly controlled or modulated through assignable internal and external sources. Certain per-voice parameters support audio-rate modulation, including FM, sync, and DSP. Each voice also supports up to four-voice chords, external-triggered envelopes, multiple LFOs, and dual audio outputs for comprehensive desktop like synth functionality.

Voices include a multi dimensional wavetable oscillator based on the original MCO, a complex additive synthesis engine, a multi mode ’JP’ type digi-synth with super saws and more, a fully featured vocoder, a lush virtual analog implementation, a bass synth for both kicks and sub sonic tones and finally a rebirth and porting of our discontinued SID GUTs chip voice.

The MCO is designed to be familiar, quick and easy to use with a high resolution colour display and a rich visual user interface.
