Alexander Pedals Radical Delay DX Neo

Radical Delay DX from Alexander Pedals is a comprehensive delay pedal with six distinct effect modes. Mod, Bend, Dual, Rev, Arp, and Dyna modes can be accessed using the aptly-named Select button. Mod is a modulated digital delay with dedicated controls for modulation amount and speed, goes from tame to insane in the blink of an eye. Bend is a combination of delay and pitch shift, with the Tweak knob dictating the shift interval and the Alt knob routing the shift to the feedback loop or positioning it after the delay. In this mode, the pitch shifts are quantized to musical intervals. Dual is a dual tap delay line where the Time and tap tempo controls preside over the first delay output, while Tweak assigns the delay time and Alt fades between a forward delay and reverse effect. Arp is an arpeggiated delay where the Tweak control sets the arpeggiator speed and Alt selects one of eight patterns. Finally, Dyna is a dynamic delay that is extremely responsive to pick attack, giving players the ability to achieve everything from subtle bends to wild avian sounds. Here, the Tweak control dictates the overall amount and directionality of bend while Alt presides over the attack sensitivity.

Not enough? That’s just fine, because it wasn’t enough for Alexander Pedals either—which is precisely why they installed a sophisticated preset manager that gives players the ability to recall every parameter at the press of a button. Talk about in situ tactility!
