AJH Synth Matrix VCF

The Matrix VCF from AJH Synth is an analog multimode filter with a daringly vast range of sixteen total filter types, taking inspiration from the acclaimed Oberheim Matrix 12 to help you sculpt sounds without limits. Adding a full four-pole, all pass phaser mode to the original fifteen filter types from the Matrix 12, Matrix VCF brings uncompromising versatility to any Eurorack system. All your favorites are here – high pass, low pass, band pass, all pass, and notch – each featuring multiple implementations with varying poles, as well as combinations of multiple types in a single mode. Lined up in a glowing LED-menu of spectral shaping delights, modes can be selected by hand or directly controlled via the provided CV input.

Sure, with sixteen filter types this would easily be one of the most versatile filters in Eurorack, but why stop there? The onboard P-Vox resonance distortion circuit, inspired by the uniquely saturated filter core in the famed Soviet synth. This circuit alters how resonance behaves in each mode, introducing a richer character and ensuring self-oscillation in all filter modes, essentially expanding the total filter types to a whopping thirty-two modes. In addition to a dedicated 1V/Oct CV input, Matrix VCF gives you comprehensive control over filter frequency, with an attenuated frequency CV input and both 1/3 and 2/3 scaled CV inputs, perfect for keyboard filter tracking and more.

Adding the final sprig of zest to this feast of filters, AJH Synth has included an onboard VCA, providing a deeply powerful yet compact voice when paired with an oscillator and envelope. Whether you're a dedicated Matrix 12 fan or simply appreciate filter freedom when patching, the Matrix VCF from AJH Synth is a fantastic addition to any system.

NEW MODULE! MATRIX VCF User Guide - Vintage 16-Mode Filter & VCA by AJH SYNTH for #eurorack
NEW MODULE! The MATRIX VCF & VCA by AJH SYNTH is a 16-mode filter based on the vintage Oberheim Matrix 12 & Xpander synthesisers of the 1980's. It has all 15 filter types of the original synth filter, plus an additional 4-pole all pass filter mode, AND a switchable resonance and distortion circuit based on the Polivoks synth, which flips the character of the filter on its head. It can go from smooth and crisp, to aggressive overdrive with screaming resonance in an instant.
It is 14hp, and features its own built-in VCA, negating the need for an additional module to amplify its output, saving valuable rack space.
Frequency is controllable by 4 different CV inputs, resonance can also be controlled by CV, naturally the VCA, but also filter Mode can be selected by control voltages, meaning that a huge range of automation is possible, in addition to the physical pots for manual tweaking.
