Each VCA has a dedicated input, output, and CV input for shaping a variety of instruments, sounds, or modulated modulation! The AI007's individual CV controls also act as level controls when nothing is plugged into the CV input—you can further shape your CV signals' effect on the VCA via the response controls per channel, changing the CV from linear to exponential response.

When no output is directly patched, all channels sum to the mix output, a channel with its own individual level control. As soon as you start taking individual outs and routing them elsewhere, you break the normalization and that signal won't route to the mix output.
