The S2X brings together the virtues of the ‘classical’ 7” woofer and tweeter combination by using ADAM innovative technologies and top-class materials.

The HexaCone 7” woofer is driven by a sophisticated magnet system with a 2” voice coil creating a greater linear excursion. This produces more dynamics than one would assume in a monitor of such small proportions. As a result, in addition to the unsurpassed audio quality of the X-ART and A/B amplifier combination, this monitor surprises the listener with a very powerful, deep, but always tight and precise low end.

ADAM studio monitors are state-of-the-art, no compromise speakers intended for audio engineers who are interested in the truest possible reproduction of their recordings. ADAM monitors have been constructed with one design objective only: to achieve the most realistic sound quality for each speaker in the line.

Groundbreaking innovation in electro-acoustic transducers, painstaking design and superior materials are the cornerstones of ADAM Technology. The authentic reproduction of recordings of acoustical events (a frequently discussed and subjective issue) is our yardstick in the unconditional search for the finest product possible. To achieve this goal we combine years of our own musical and acoustic experience and with feedback from the critical 'golden ears' of our professional customers, and double-check the results with the most advanced measurement techniques in order to ensure the finest sound reproduction available at any price. ADAM Audio produces a complete range of both passive and active monitoring systems to suit any given studio environment, from the smallest home/project studios to the most demanding professional environments and applications.

All SX-models (except the S1X) can be optionally retrofitted with a 24 bit/192 kHz D/A Converter featuring an AES/EBU (XLR) and a SPDIF (RCA) inputs as well as a R/L/Mono switch.

Six controls can be found on the new front panel. Input sensitivity is handled by two controls. One control allows for coarse settings (-20dB to +8dB), while the second is used for fine tuning in 0.5dB steps, ranging from -1.5dB to 2dB . There are two controls for the lower frequencies. One is an equalizer at 80 Hz that boosts bass response sometimes desirable in popular music. The second is a shelf filter that allows the engineer to alter the frequencies below 150 Hz. High frequencies can also be adjusted by two different controls. The first alters the high frequency volume (-2dB to +2dB), while the second is a shelf filter for frequencies above 6 kHz. Both the high and low shelf filters can raise or lower ±4 dB progressively within their frequency band.

The new HexaCone™-woofers are designed with larger and longer voice coils that deliver more linear excursion for higher SPL max. values. A stronger magnetic structure is added as well for an optimum in efficiency and accuracy.

All models of the SX-Series are equipped with the new X-ART tweeter. It’s fundamental principle is the very same as ART, one of ADAM’s core technologies that has already been written in the annals of audio technology.  The X-ART tweeter has a 4dB higher efficiency, a 3dB higher maximum sound pressure level, and an increase in frequency response up to 50 kHz. The newly designed broadband A/B amplifier has been developed by ADAM to perfectly match the needs and capabilities of the X-ART tweeter. The entire range of sound can be heard as never before.
