33 1/3 Radiohead’s Kid A

Kid A from Radiohead was a radical change from their breakout album OK Computer, taking influence from electronic, jazz, ambient, and 20th century classical musical styles. Moving away from traditional guitar-music-rock-album, this album uses synthesizers, drum machines, brass, and strings to create lush and haunting sounds. Many of the lyrics were written in the Dada cut up fashion, assembling words together at random in a collage. Marvin Lin looks at the politics and concepts behind Kid A and its lasting influence.
